Job Title: Senior Consultant

Experience: A minimum of 4 years working in sustainability

Reporting to: Director

Location: London, Farringdon

Hours: Full time (40-hour week with minimum three days a week in the office)

 

 

About the Senior Consultant Role

We’re looking for a Senior Consultant to join our team.  You will have a genuine passion for making a difference and a desire to work with the business world to achieve that.

You will be a critical thinker adept in building trusted client relationships across short- and long-term projects and have a consistent record of delivery to a high standard.

 

 

What you’ll be doing

You will be working on a range of strategy, engagement, communications, and operational projects for clients across the US, UK, Europe and beyond.

Key responsibilities include:  

1.      Client project delivery (70%)

  • Delivering advice and insights to clients based on years of experience and solid judgement

  • Leading the creation of sustainability training and engagement programmes

  • Managing sustainability reporting projects often working with freelance copywriters and designers

  • Leading the development of environmental and social policies and due diligence plans

  • Leading compliance projects (e.g. DMAs) that go beyond compliance to create value for clients with Director oversight

  • Managing analysts on projects and collaborating to identify priorities

  • Managing project timelines and workflows including working with Directors to adjust plans where required

2.     Business Development (15%)

  • Leading the development of project proposals and pitches

  • Establishing and growing professional network of clients and partners

3. Knowledge management and continuous learning (10%)

  • Sharing research and insights with the wider team

  • Preparing presentations, research materials and written reports

4.     Organisational Management (5%+)

  • Support operation of projects in line with the overall BRODIE processes and systems

  • Attend BRODIE team meetings and training, project updates and trainings

  • If relevant experience exists, and following internal training, Senior Consultants may line manage Analysts.

 

 

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have the desire to be part of a small yet fast-growing company and have a proven track-record of corporate sustainability with a minimum of 18 months’ relevant experience.

While not essential experience in ESG/sustainability reporting, communications and project management is desirable.

Skills and experience

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience working in corporate sustainability either in house or consultancy (or closely connected field)

  • Educated to bachelor’s degree level 

  • First class writing and research skills

  • Excellent briefing skills

  • The ability to review and provide feedback on others work

  • Good breadth of knowledge of issues surrounding environmental and social topics. Examples of topics may include climate change, nature, or human rights.

  • A depth of knowledge and excellent judgement in at least one area of sustainability.

  • Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously 

Desirable skills and experience

  • Masters level degree in sustainability topics

  • Fluency in a global second language

Key competencies

  • Proven experience working on projects and/or with clients and the ability to generate clear and accurate insights

  • Highly creative thinker who is always seeking ways to improve our work  

  • Ability to quickly understand client needs and respond accordingly through advice and new project ideas

  • Experience of working on multiple workstreams, juggling many competing demands and managing time effectively

  • Strong communication and engagement skills, written and verbal

  • Eye for detail including excellent written and numerical skills

  • Motivated, proactive, and passionate to always do great work

  • Keen to learn, develop and grow, personally and professionally

  • Relish the challenges and opportunities of work as a team player in a fast-paced, growing company


What we can offer

  • Salary £63,000 - £76,000, dependent on experience
